THOUGHTS ON RESURRECTION SUNDAY
“The greatest leader who ever lived…still lives.”
Jesus was the greatest leader because he was strong in at least three ways:
First, He mastered Himself. He knew who He was. He didn’t look back from the cross and say, “Wow, I must be the son of God.” You never master yourself until you master your tongue. Jesus always said powerful and confident words about Himself and others. You never build yourself, or others, by tearing yourself down.
Second, He mastered His relationships. Relational equity is critical for success for leading at any level. How you view a person is far more important than how you use them. He gave people around Him a compelling vision larger than themselves and one that would outlast their lifetime. He empowered His team by constantly asking, “What can I do for you?” Not here’s what you can do for Me.
Third, He mastered His actions. Great leaders have a bias for action. He came to serve His Father by establishing His Kingdom on this earth. He had a plan inspired by the Holy Spirit. He had the power, authority and ability to do it alone. However, He formed a team of ordinary men and they changed the world forever.
Jesus was the greatest leader because He mastered Himself, His relationships and His actions. You can do the same because His Word said you can. You may not rewrite world history, but you can rewrite one person’s history every day. Why not start today?
Today is Resurrection Sunday. It’s the day the Savior of the world arose from grave and conquered sin for all mankind. There are things you should never forget about this day:
1. It’s not just about Jesus; it’s about you. He has already claimed His new life. Now is the time to claim yours.
2. It’s not just about death; it’s about life. And not life after death—that’s the easy part—but real life before death, right now. You do not have to die to live.
3. It’s not just about the past, way back when. It’s all about the future. I can say with assurance, your best days are ahead of you.
“Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The grave is empty so your life be can full. Christ triumphed over death so you could overcome every challenge in life.
Start living it. Start claiming it. Start making it your own today, for the first time or the thousandth time! Because our leader still lives, your greatest life is guaranteed…if you abide in Him and His word abides in you!
