One of the greatest invitations given to mankind was when Jesus stood up in the MARKETPLACE and said:

”If anyone thirsts, let him come after me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scriptures say, streams of living water will flow from within him.” John 7:37-38

If you are not aware of your deepest ”thirsts” (desires), the offer means nothing. If you are not aware of the ”thirsts” of those closest to you, you can offer them nothing of true value.

All meaningful conversation, with God and anyone else, begins with knowing their deepest longing. It must be quenched. Everything else is incidental at best, or worse, meaningless.

These meaningful conversations must take place consistently in three settings. With your natural family and your spiritual family. And, with those who touch the ”hem of your garment” every day in the marketplace, the 21st century mission field.
