Great leaders know that forming a team of seasoned and emotionally mature team members is well worth the effort, but challenging. However, the greater challenge is getting them to lay aside misguided ego and personal ambition for the sake of the team and focus only on the team’s mission and vision.

You have a team when everyone has a clear understanding of the mission and commitment to the same out-come based results. Until then, you only have a group working on the same effort or project. You can lead a team but you can only manage a group.
